Orangeville Police Service is investigating a robbery that occurred late last night at a local convenience store. This marks the third robbery incident in the past two days.
On Tuesday, June 19, 2019 at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Circle K Convenience Store located at 108 Dawson Road in Orangeville. A lone male entered the store and engaged in a conversation with a store employee. The suspect left the store without obtaining any cash or merchandise.
Police believe that the suspect is the same person involved in similar robberies from early Monday morning.
On Monday, June 17, 2019 at approximately 3:45 a.m., police responded to a robbery alarm at the 7-Eleven Convenience Store, located at 268 Broadway in Orangeville. A lone male entered the store and engaged in a conversation with a store employee. The store employee activated a robbery alarm and the suspect left without obtaining any cash or merchandise.
At 6:00 a.m., a lone male entered the Circle K Convenience Store located at 400 Town Line in Orangeville. The male engaged in a conversation with a store employee. The employee turned over a quantity of cash to the suspect and the suspect left the store. It is unknown which direction the suspect fled and whether or not a vehicle was involved.
The suspect is believed to be the same person in all three incidents. He is identified as being white, approximately 45-years-old, 5’6” tall, medium build, and black/grey goatee with brown eyes.
He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie, white socks, black shoes, jeans at 7-Eleven and dark coloured shorts with white stripes down the legs at Circle K on Monday. The third incident at the Dawson Road Circle K location, the suspect was wearing a tan/brown coloured jacket, black pants, sunglasses and had a black partial bandana or scarf covering his mouth area.
Police are continuing their investigation and would like to hear from anyone who might have information regarding any of the three incidents.

OPS arrest man for robbery at west-end bank
Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 30-year-old Orangeville male regarding a robbery that occurred the evening of May 2, 2019, at the RBC located in the Springbrook Plaza on Broadway at C Line.
On Thursday, May 2, 2019, at approximately 7:45 p.m., police received a report that a robbery had just occurred at the RBC located in the Springbrook Plaza, 489 Broadway.
An RBC staff member reported that a male had entered the front door of the bank and approached the customer service counter. The male handed a piece of paper to a customer service representative. The bank employee responded by turning over a quantity of cash to the male. The suspect exited the bank and fled from the area.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at approximately 2:45 p.m., 30-year-old Tapiwa Begele Munthali, of Orangeville, was arrested without incident in the area of Broadway and Second Street. The accused male is charged with Robbery. The male was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on July 16, 2019, to answer to the allegations.
