The Orangeville Jr. C Northmen are on a four-game winning streak that has vaulted them into third place.

Over four games, they outscored their opponents 52-21.

After a convincing 16-6 win over the Branford Warriors on their home floor at Tony Rose Arena on Saturday, June 3, the Northmen travelled to Barrie on Sunday, June 4, to take on the Bombers.

They left Barrie with a 9-6 win.

In Saturday’s game, the Orangeville offence was running roughshod on the Warriors’ defence, putting up 8-4 and 13-4 leads before the final 16-6 score.

Josh Presley continued to lead the offence with a two-goal, five-assist performance. Luke Donward added two goals and three assists. Rounding out the scoring were Zack Dorval 2-2, Owen Kelly 1-3, Jack Fitzpatrick 3 goals, Camden Mcguire 1-2, Keaton Walsh 2 goals, Nick Haladuick 1-1, Danny Dorval with one goal, Hunter Hartley with one goal, and Aidean Toogood with one assist.

Goalie Jacob Hand stopped 26 of 32 shots for the night.

In Sunday’s game against Barrie, the teams were playing for a tie-breaker, as the teams played overtime games earlier in the season, with each winning one.

The Northmen had a 3-1 lead heading into the second period. Both teams scored twice in the second, with the Northmen hanging onto their two-goal lead heading into the third period.

The Northmen added four goals in the final period to pull away and finish with a 9-6 win.

Presley had a five-point night with a goal and four assists. Fitzpatrick finished with three goals for the game.

The Junior C Northmen will be back at home on Saturday, June 10, to host the first-place Wilmot Wild at Tony Rose Arena.

Game time is 7:00 pm.
