The assault trial for a Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board teacher is complete.
Jennifer Peltier will be back in court on February 9, when the judge presiding over the case will deliver a verdict in the Orangeville court.
Ms. Peltier was charged in May 2017, after an incident at St. Benedict Elementary School in Orangeville was reported to police.
A father contacted police to complain that his young son had been assaulted at the school.
Ms. Peltier has been accused of dragging a five year-old student by the arm and slamming him into a chair and pinning him into a desk using her knee.
The incident was witnessed by two teaching assistants who were present in the classroom and reported it to school authorities.
Ms. Peltier has been suspended with pay since her arrest.
