The Orangeville Food Bank is hosting a food drive in conjunction with FM101 to kick off the fall donation season today (Aug. 24) between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
“Our incredible volunteers will be at our local stores including No Frills; Sobeys; FreshCo; Shopper’s Drug Mart and Zehrs accepting financial and nonperishable donations,” said the Orangeville Food Bank in a press release.
“Inflation has hit all Canadians hard but as the fall approaches families and individuals with fewer financial resources are worried about how to balance heating costs; school supplies; food and rent or their mortgage payments.”
The Orangeville Food Bank has seen a 44 per cent increase over 2022 in those needing assistance and a 171 per cent increase in the number of working families accessing the food bank.
“Help the Orangeville Food Bank stock the shelves and support your neighbours as we strive for a Well Nourished Community,” said the Orangeville Food Bank.
