Orangeville Police investigating theft of travel trailers

Orangeville Police are investigating the theft of two travel trailers from Orangeville properties.

On Wednesday, July 10, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a 40-foot travel trailer was stolen from a fenced compound at 50 Centennial Road.

The travel trailer is described as a 2013 Forest River Salem Villa Classic, white, 40 feet long, tandem axle, with two small entrance doors and a large patio door on the right side of the trailer, which had licence plate number K9632J attached to the rear.

Security video footage showed the trailer being towed away by a burgundy Ford F-150 pick-up truck, with a four-door cab and running boards. At least three people were in the truck and involved in the theft.

The next day, July 11, at 9:30 a.m., it was discovered that a second travel trailer had been stolen from the rear of a business at 70 Centennial Road. Security video footage revealed that the trailer was stolen at approximately 10:30 p.m., Wednesday.

The second trailer is described as a 2015 Forest River Wildwood travel trailer, white, 31 feet long with tandem axles. The trailer had licence plate number L9847S attached to the rear.

Although the two towing vehicles were different, it is believed that the two incidents are connected.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to hear from anyone who may be able to assist with these investigations in any way.

Police investigate early morning robbery

Orangeville Police are investigating a robbery early Monday morning at the Riddell Road underpass tunnel near Montgomery Boulevard.

On Monday, July 15, at about 1:15 a.m., a 16-year-old youth was walking eastbound on the walking trail leading to the Riddell Road underpass tunnel. The youth alleges that he was approached by four males, believed to be in their late teens or early twenties, who asked him for money. When he told the group that he didn’t have any money they pushed him to the ground and removed a wallet from his pocket. The four suspects fled toward Alder Street. The victim received minor injuries.

The four suspects are all described as white males in their late teens or early twenties. One is about six feet tall, 150 pounds, unshaven, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The second is described as 5’6” tall, skinny, 135 pounds wearing all black clothing. The third is 6’5” tall, skinny, 130 pounds, wearing all black clothing and white Nike shoes, and the fourth is described as 5’11”, heavy build, 170 pounds, wearing an orange Champion hoodie and black track pants.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to hear from anyone who might have information regarding this incident.

2 youths charged in dispute at Skate Park

Orangeville Police have arrested and charged two youths after an altercation at Rotary Park.

On Monday, July 8, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a group of youths became involved in a dispute over property allegedly taken from another youth’s backpack. As a result, four of the youths left the area but returned three hours later. Upon their return, one of the youths produced a paint ball gun and began shooting at people in the park from the vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene and police were called. Police attended the area and spoke with two victims. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The four suspects were not located.

On Tuesday, July 9, police arrested and charged two youths regarding the incident. The two, whose identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were charged with two counts of assault with a weapon. They are scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on August 12 to answer to the allegations.
