Ontario government funding $3.4 million for infrastructure in Dufferin-Caledon

Dufferin-Caledon has received more than $3.4 million in funding from the Ontario government for local infrastructure projects.

The $3.4 million funding from the provincial government is through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF), and will be spread across 10 municipalities in the community to address local infrastructure needs. The funding is part of the Ontario government’s commitment to provide approximately $200 million to 42 small, rural, and northern communities to help address core infrastructure projects for 2021.

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones in a press release said the funding will help build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure within the Dufferin-Caledon municipalities.

Out of the $3.4 million in funding, Orangeville has been slated to receive $816,152

Other municipalities that have received the infrastructure funding for 2021 include, Grand Valley ($119,067), Mono ($206,047), Shelburne ($260,842), Amaranth ($98,473), East Garafraxa ($50,000), Melanchthon ($50,000), and Mulmur ($54,516).

The County of Dufferin is also receiving $425,342 for infrastructure needs, while the Town of Caledon will see $1,413,316.
