The Orangeville Junior C Northmen will host the Six Nations Stealth on May 19 at Tony Rose Arena.

The Northmen are the defending Meredith Cup provincial champions, having won the title in their inaugural year in the Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League in 2022.

In the final series, the Northmen were up against the Clarington Shamrox in a series that went seven games and ended with a 10-6 Orangeville win. It was the first time in the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s history that a Junior C team won the championship in their inaugural year.

There are 15 teams in the Junior C line-up this season playing in two conferences.

The Northmen are in the Western Conference along with the Wilmot Wild, Six Nations Stealth, Barrie Bombers, Brantford Warriors, Halton Hills Bulldogs, and the Fergus Thistles.

In the Eastern Conference, there are eight teams this season, including the North Shore Kodiaks, Peterborough Lakers, Whitby Warriors, Cornwall Celtics, Nepean Knights, Clarington Shamrox, Huntsville Hawks, and the South Shore Centurions.

The Northmen are having a slow start this year, losing three of their first five games, but there is a long way to go in the 18-game regular season.

The action will get underway at Tony Rose Arena at 8:00 p.m.
