Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating the theft of a vehicle from a local laundromat in the Town of Orangeville.
On Monday (Oct. 25) at approximately 9:20 p.m., Dufferin OPP attended a laundromat on Fourth Street in the Town of Orangeville for the report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant advised that the suspect entered the laundromat and removed her car keys from a counter and left in the vehicle. The theft took place on October 25, 2021 somewhere between 8:50 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.
The stolen vehicle is described as a 2012 GMC Terrain, brown in colour.
The suspect is described as; male, white, 5’8″, thin build, wearing black jeans, black T-shirt, black running shoes and a black coat. See the above photo for a picture of the suspect.
Surveillance video has been ordered and a picture of the suspect will be released once it is available.
Dufferin OPP is asking residents and business owners in area of Broadway and Fourth Street to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity or a vehicle matching the above description. Dufferin OPP reminds residents to always lock your vehicles and close the windows, remove everything from sight leaving nothing in your vehicle to steal, remove garage door openers from your car, and never leave the car running and unattended.
