At a special meeting Tuesday night, the Upper Grand District School Board appointed Glen Regier as its new Superintendent of Finance, replacing retiring Superintendent Janice Wright.
Mr. Regier has served as the Manager of Budget, Ministry Reporting and Analytical Services at the Durham District School Board. His appointment is effective August 1, 2016.
At the meeting, trustees also approved a recommendation that the board establish a French as a Second Language Advisory Committee (FSLAC) that will provide input regarding the implementation of the UGDSB French as a Second Language Action Plan.
The committee will meet four to 10 times a year as needed and will provide advice for the development and review of the French Immersion application, random selection, wait list and program development process.
Staff will bring back to trustees a suggested composition of the FSLAC for the June 2016 board meeting.
