Summer fun at the Orangeville Public Library

July 15, 2021   ·   0 Comments

The TD Summer Reading Club (TDSRC) is back with a summer of fun programs and reading incentives for children 12 and under. Register on the Beanstack Tracker App and then drop by the library to pick up a notebook and stickers to track your summer reading. Club participants can read whatever they like to earn badges for a chance to win cool prizes from local businesses.

Online programs for kids of all ages run until August 28. Each week features new games, reading suggestions, and take-home activities to guarantee a summer of reading fun! In addition to the popular storytimes, Kids Club (ages 5 to 7), and Tween Club (8 to 1), there are Saturday STEM workshops in partnership with Scientists in School.

New this year, families can enjoy reading a story outside as they stroll along Broadway. The TD Summer Reading Club Storywalk® features “The Thing Lou Couldn’t Do”, written and illustrated by Ashley Spires. In partnership with the Orangeville BIA, children can discover each new page of the book in the windows of downtown businesses. There is an interactive map that you view on your mobile device to guide you from the beginning to the end of the story at https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/9b5ed7a2ba094c8a8e24e46be601ce37

The Storywalk® will be moving to a local park in August.

Please maintain physical distancing while enjoying the TD Summer Reading Club Storywalk®.
