Santa Claus will make the very long trip all the way from the North Pole this Saturday,  to be a part of The Kin Club Santa Claus  Parade.

The parade will start at 5 p.m. and is expected to finish three hours later.  The route starts on Hansen Boulevard near the Orangeville Mall.  From there the parade will proceed south on First street to Broadway, then east along Broadway, north on Fourth Street and finish at Rotary Park.

There will be approximately 45 floats, plus four bands, Disney characters, lights, music, candy, and more.

Kin Club President Cindy Williams says this year’s parade is a must-see. “It’s a lot of fun, the entire community comes together to celebrate Christmas.”

This year’s theme is “ I Still Believe”.

“Show your spirit and show how you believe in Christmas,” Ms. Williams said.

This year’s Honorary Parade Marshal is Nick Hann, the Orangeville resident who recently ran from Orangeville to Toronto, then up the CN Tower in support of research into Cystic Fibrosis.

“Nick has been an honorable member of our community this year,”  Ms. Williams said.

Orangeville firefighters will be collecting donations for the Orangeville Food Bank during the parade.  And Canada Post will be there collecting letters for Santa.
