All systems are go at Parker Mitsubishi as the local dealership gets ready to break ground on a new building at their Highway 9 location just east of Orangeville.
The dealership’s final plans have been approved as they move forward with construction on the new project, slated to get underway in September.
The Mitsubishi Company recently updated their public image by creating a new brand that will be used on a global scale.
The new brand image will make the dealership instantly recognizable with a stunning new black and red building design that will make it a stand-out building either as a stand-alone facility or when part of a larger auto retailer strip.
Parker Mitsubishi will be one of the first dealerships in Canada to have the new design.
“This new design really shows the commitment of the brand to be in Canada and North America, otherwise Mitsubishi wouldn’t be making these kind of investments,” explained Parker Mitsubishi dealer principal Adam Allard. “This current location got us going but really it was a little small for us from the start. We wanted to be patient and execute the plan properly.”
The plan for the new building calls for a two-story facility with a large showroom on the main floor and additional space on the second floor for administrative staff.
Mr. Allard said that once they started to design the new building, they realized that there were many opportunities where they could improve to expand some areas and offer increased service in others.
“We started adding to the building in addition to changing the image. We’ll have a new lounge and five new service bays. We started to grow the plan and with the new mezzanine for extra offices we can free up more space in the showroom for vehicles.”
In addition to the new building, the plan includes landscaping that will beautify the property and expand the outdoor lot to the east and will allow for a larger used vehicle selling area. A new service drive-through will be added to the west side of the building. The new service drive-through will have a terrace on top with grass and picnic tables.
“We’re really trying to create an experience for our customers,” Mr. Allard explained. “
While the new building is under construction the plan is to continue with no service interruption. Dealership staff will move into temporary on-site offices during construction.
The current service area will continue to operate normally while the new bays are being built so customers can still come in for their normal service and maintenance. Once the new bays are complete and operational the old service bays will be removed.
It’s an exciting time for Parker Mitsubishi as they start construction on the new building and plan ahead for the years to come.
The new building is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2020 and will be an attractive addition to the lineup of auto dealerships along Highway 9.
Mr. Allard said they plan to present the new building to the public with a grand open celebration in the new year.
