The popular Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival has once again been recognized as one of the top annual events in Ontario.
In a release distributed to media last week, the men and women behind Orangeville’s musical bonanza confirmed the Blues & Jazz Festival had been named one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario, for the eighth year running.
“It’s gratifying for the Festival and our community to be recognized by the festival and events industry. On behalf of the Board of Directors, volunteers and supporters of the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival, we would like to thank our outstanding community, funders and sponsors for their significant support in creating such an exciting festival of such importance,” said Josh Leitch, President of the Festival Board of Directors.
Now entering its 17th year, the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival has long been a staple of summer for our community. Each year the event draws thousands of visitors to Orangeville’s downtown core.
The Top 100 recipients were unveiled at a special ceremony, hosted by Festivals & Events Ontario, in London, Ont. on Feb. 28. The Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival was the only event recognized in Dufferin County.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition of our Festival once again, and we look forward to presenting our 17th annual Festival this year,” said Larry Kurtz, the Festival’s founder and Artistic Director. “I am particularly pleased that our Festival attendance grows steadily every year and we continue to present some of the very best in both local and Canadian talent.”
This year’s Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival will take place from May 31 to June 2. For more information, visit orangevillebluesandjazz.ca.
