Orangeville Council took a moment to recognize all of the new businesses in Town during last Monday’s (May 31) Council meeting.
A report to Council with the list of new businesses established locally between Feb. 1 and April 30, totals 15.
“I want to congratulate those who have elected to invest in business start-ups in our communities, especially during the pandemic and I’m thrilled to see the numbers that are growing and the diversity of the businesses that also are represented in this report,” said Coun. Joe Andrews.

In addition, there are two home-based businesses that registered within the Town of Orangeville during the Feb. 1 to April 30 period.
It’s important to note, Town staff are partially limited in their lists of new businesses as registrations that are completed online cannot be accessed unless they were under the Economic Development/SBEC Resource Centre.
As well, sole proprietors strictly operating under their own legal names are not required to register their businesses and a large number of home-based proprietorships are established each year.
