After four decades of serving Orangeville and area, Orangeville Volkswagen is look forward to the next few decades of providing quality automobiles and service to the public.

The Orangeville dealership was recently honoured with recognition for their outstanding longevity by corporate headquarters at Volkswagen Canada.

Volkswagen Canada regional manager, Randy Koster, area manager, Everett Michetti, and fixed operation manager, Martin Frappier, visited the Orangeville dealership on Wednesday, March 7, to present dealership owner John Leeder with a plaque of recognition

Orangeville Volkswagen has changed its location on Highway 10 a few times over the years before opening the current location in the late 90’s. Several of the employees have been with the dealership long-term.

“Orangeville Volkswagen has been in operation for 40 years – since 1977,” Mr. Koster said. “In addition to being here for 40 years, the dealership has just won the Wolfsburg Crest Club award. It recognizes a whole bunch of factors – customer satisfaction, sales, everything. We have 141 dealers in Canada. This is annual award and we only had 26 winners this year and Orangeville Volkswagen is one of them.”

Mr. Leeder took over ownership of the dealership five years ago and also has a dealership in Toronto.

“It’s the people too,” Mr. Leeder said of why the dealership has been around for so long. “It’s a lot of things – it’s the brand, the people here and of course the community. The cars fit their lifestyle. This was a very good opportunity to move out here to Orangeville. This is a very steady, consistent store. The town of Orangeville has really adapted to the Volkswagen brand. Our customer base is quite large.”

Receiving the Crest award, Mr. Leeder said, reflects on the dealership as a whole.

“It’s an annual award by performance and since I’ve owned the store we’ve won it four out of five years. It’s performance based and the staff has really stepped up to look after our customers and that’s part of what it takes to qualify for that award. This means we really look after our customers.”

Once known as Autohaus Orangeville, the dealership is located on Highway 10, just north of Orangeville.
