The Ontario Lottery and Gaming commission (OLG) announced Wednesday that Jennifer Schlosser of Orangeville won a jackpot worth $158,415 on December 23 with a ticket purchased at the Mac’s Milk store on Townline.
The win was in the Poker Lotto All In game. Jennifer also won $5,000 on the instant portion of her Poker Lotto play bringing her total winnings to $163,415!
“I was at the store to pick up some milk when I decided to grab a Poker Lotto All In ticket,” Jennifer said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where she got her big cheque. “There were so many numbers on the screen, I couldn’t even read them. I started screaming!”
At that moment, the 41-year-old mother of two says she ran into a former colleague. “I kept running back and forth between the retailer and my former colleague and I kept hugging him. Next, I called my boyfriend and said, ‘I think you need to get over here now.’”
Plans are already under way for Jennifer’s big win. “I plan to pay off everything including my car. The rest of the money will go towards a down payment on a house. This win gives me the freedom to enjoy life. Now I can also visit my daughter in Newfoundland. This win makes life more comfortable.”
Poker Lotto players can opt for All In to take a chance on instantly winning a jackpot that starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. OLG says overall odds of winning any prize with Poker Lotto are 1 in 3.66.
