Dufferin OPP officers have been investigating multiple residential break-ins in Mono’s new Fieldgate subdivision north of Highway 9 and east of First Line EHS.
The detachment said in a release Wednesday that the culprits are entering through basement windows and once inside stealing cash and jewellery.
Police are offering the following tips:
• ho is your contact (key holder) for: alarms, thefts, weather damage or animal problems? Do you have their contact information numbers? Are they friends/neighbours?
• our insurance company may give you a deduction if you have one.
• ecure your windows and doors and close window curtains or blinds.
• ecord serial numbers of anything of value left behind.
• onsider installing motion sensor lights on the exterior of your home.
• onsider installing security cameras and/or a burglar alarm.
“Be advised that Provincial Cst. Paul Nancekivell is a trained Safeguard officer and can attend by appointment to speak to individual homeowners or small groups to offer low cost suggestions on how to better secure you home,” the release said, adding:
