Ontario Culture Days workshop coming to Library next Tuesday

Information sessions on how to participate in the seventh annual Ontario Culture Days are taking place in more than 20 cities and towns across the province, including Orangeville next Tuesday, May 17.

Last year, more than half a million Ontarians participated in over 2,000 Culture Days activities offered in 168 communities across Ontario.

During the year, 1,451 Ontario artists, arts and cultural organizations and community groups volunteered to share their love of culture with an enthusiastic public.

Well established in its seventh year,

Culture Days has a loyal and enthusiastic base of participants and attendees: 85% of Culture Days activity organizers are planning to participate again in 2016 and 71% of public attendees recommend attending Culture Days to others.

Orangeville’s is among more than 20 information sessions  hosted by community arts councils, municipalities and arts and cultural associations. Ontario Culture Days and local staff will share tools, tips and resources for Culture Days activity organizers while encouraging networking and collaboration in the community. Information sessions bring together artists, arts and cultural groups, municipal cultural staff, community arts councils, businesses, local media and other people interested in forging collaborations to organize Culture Days 2016 activities.

All information sessions are free to attend and everyone is welcome.

The Orangeville workshop takes place on Tuesday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Room, Orangeville Library, 1 Mill Street, Orangeville

These information sessions bring together anyone wishing to participate in or support Culture Days in their local community and offers a range of tips and tools for effective participation.

Canada’s national celebration of arts and culture takes place next Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2.
