The Orangeville District Secondary School (ODSS) junior girls’ basketball team will be competing for the District 10 championship this season.

The ODSS team finished second overall in the regular season standings with a 6-1 record.

They were just two points behind Guelph Collegiate who ended the regular season in first place as an undefeated team.

At the end of the regular season the squad had scored 326 points in their games while allowing 266 points against.

In their semi-final match, the ODSS team was up against John F. Ross Collegiate out of Guelph who finished in third place in the standings.

ODSS won that game 44-20 to earn the right to go to the championship final.

In the other semi-final, it was a big upset when the fourth place team from Centennial College won 24-20 over the first place team from Guelph Collegiate to knock them out of competition.

This sets up a champion final game between ODSS and Centennial.

The final championship game was scheduled for Wednesday, December 15, in the gym at ODSS.

Under current COVID rules, no spectators will be allowed to attend the game.
