Nissan Orangeville recognized with 2022 Global Award

Nissan Orangeville is under the international spotlight for its outstanding performance ­– scoring an A+ in everything from sales efficiency to customer service.

The dealership was recognized with the 2022 Nissan Global Award and received the 2022 Nissan Award of Excellence. Only 5 per cent or about 130 of the roughly 2,600 Nissan dealers across the globe receive the award, making the Orangeville business one of the best in the world.

Jamie Patterson, Orangeville Nissan general manager, said he largely credits the dealership’s success to the skill and dedication of his team.

“I think it’s just the tradition of hiring the right people,” said Patterson. “We’ve continued to hire good people that match our customers.”

Mark Pilla, managing partner at Orangeville Nissan said it is the local customers that he has to thank for the dealership’s success, noting they’ve shown great support through the pandemic.

“We would like to thank the community for supporting us and allowing us to do this,” said Pilla. “We couldn’t do it without them and we couldn’t do it without the staff, so big thanks to everybody.”

Steve Millette, president of Nissan Canada, said in the context of the pandemic and supply chain issues, Orangeville Nissan has done an exemplary job of keeping customers satisfied.

“It just speaks to the leadership of this place, where they can get through this with flying colors and meet the expectations of customers,” he said.

Millette has been president of Nissan Canada since 2019, and Patterson said it’s been great to have someone in the role to provide stability and a clear long-term focus.

Marc Andre Nault, Nissan Canada vice president of sales, noted that winning the 2022 Nissan Global Award required a consistent team effort, with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) having to be met each month. If one department fell behind on the KPIs, it impacts the whole dealership’s ability to win the global award.
