Suite Six, a new innovative beauty business, celebrated their grand opening in Orangeville on Wednesday (July 14).
Founded by mother-daughter duo, Rose Natale and Melissa Satino, the new shop located at 172 Broadway is a mix of a beauty store and independent salon suites.
“We had a vison of having a space that will be able to help people have a turnkey space of their own, to have their own business without actually trying to open up a big brick and mortar,” said Satino. “They have the independence, being able to do what they want.
While the front portion of the store is dedicated to beauty supplies the back half has five individually operated suites that are housed by individual stylists that want to run and operate their own business.
“A lot of stuff that’s going on in the beauty industry is renting chairs and other salons where you don’t get the intimacy and the freedom to create your own personality, your own brand, and space,” explained Satino. “You get to do that here, because you have your own spot and you are in charge of your own marketing, your own social media…it’s more feasible to own your own suite instead of operating out of a salon.”
With over 35 years’ experience between them, Satino and Natale decided they wanted to bring the unique suite-style rental to Orangeville last year. After securing the location in January, they officially opened in June.
In the salon, hairdresser Sabrina Mallais, one of the stylists renting a suite, was colouring a client’s hair. Working in the industry for 14 years she said she’s never seen this type of suite-style rental.
“It’s a really great concept and I love it. I love being here, having my own space, it’s perfect,” said Mallais.
