Man arrested for attempted murder in Orangeville

Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in relation to a stabbing incident in the Town of Orangeville. 

On Sunday, April 11, 2021, at approximately 11:25 a.m., officers, along with emergency services personnel, responded to a report of a stabbing on Jay Crescent. The female victim was transported to a local trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. 

A suspect was arrested in the area a short time later. There is no threat to public safety. 

As a result of the investigation, Tyron Darvin JOSEPH, 42-years-old, of Toronto, was charged with Attempted Murder. The accused was held for a Bail Hearing April 12, 2021 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
