Headwaters Arts and the Alton Mill Arts Centre present an afternoon celebrating the arts with live music sets by: “The Sidemen”, a 4-man band playing the standard and not so standard traditional, legendary jazz tunes; “Rubber Brothers”, a zany spoken word (Harry Posner) and percussion (Jeremy Grant) duo; poetry readings/insight by Harry Posner, Dufferin County’s Poet Laureate and author of six books, and croc E. moses, poet, and a ribboncutting all under the tented roof over the Annex Courtyard.
An Artisan Marketplace will surround the Annex Courtyard, featuring 10+ HA member artists selling a diverse array of unique art works. Food trucks on-site with refreshments and the Headwaters Gallery and Mill artists studios, Galleries and retail shops will all be open. Still in Stage 3 re-opening guidelines, all COVID-19 Ontario Health Regulated protocols will be in place. Tickets are $15 (including HST) for the live performances. Visit https:// headwatersarts.org/product/raising-the-roof-tickets/ to book your tickets.
Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund provided funding of $138,900 to Headwaters Arts to install the three-season roof/tent structure over the Annex Courtyard, part of the unique Alton Mill heritage complex in Caledon last year. The funding for this outdoor arts space was developed to help non-profit organizations, like Headwaters Arts, recover and rebuild from the impacts of COVID-19. The opportunity for the community, artists and visitors to safely gather outdoors, to experience, engage and enjoy a multitude of new and exciting outdoor arts and culture programs, art shows, workshops, concerts, and ticketed performances/events like this celebration is just the beginning of a wonderful space to showcase the talented arts in the Headwaters Region.
Headwaters Arts, volunteers, member artists and the Alton Mill Arts Centre, are extremely grateful for the funding support by Ontario Trillium and additional supporters, including Central Counties Tourism Association and the Town of Caledon.
