The Orangeville Northmen will advance to the next round of the Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League playoffs after eliminating the Halton Bulldogs in a three-game sweep in their best of five quarter-final series.

The Northmen finished in second place in the West division for the regular season with a 14-3-1 record and 29 points.

In first place at the end of the season, the Fergus Thistles got a bye in the first round and will go directly to the semi-finals when the quarter-finals are completed.

During the quarter-final the Northmen kept the pressure on all the way and won each game by a wide margin.

Game one, on June 27, ended with a 11-7 win for the local team.

The second game, in Halton territory, resulted in a 12-3 win and a 2-0 lead in the series.

It was all over on Monday, July 4, when the Northmen hosted at Tony Rose arena and left the floor with a 13-2 win to eliminate the Halton Bulldogs and advance to the semi-final.

The Northmen will next play the winner of the Brantford / Six Nations quarter-final series.

Three of the games for that series are slated for Tony Rose arena.

Those game dates are Saturday, July 9, at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, July 16, at 7:00 p.m.
