The Orangeville Junior B Northmen have advance to the West final of the OJBLL after knocking out the Six Nations Rebels in a series that went five games.
The Northmen entered the playoffs in a series against the Owen Sound North Stars that got underway on June 25.
In a tight battle, the Northmen came out on top winning three in a row to take the series.
Game one ended 6-3, followed by game two that saw the Northmen leave with a 6-5 win, and game three that ended with a narrow 8-7 Northmen win.
Advancing to the next round the O-ville squad faced Six Nations in a best of five series that got underway on July 7.
With a 5-3 lead going into the third period in game one, the Northmen capped the game with two final period goals to take a 7-4 win in the first game of the series.
The series was tied at one when the Rebels had a strong comeback in the third
period of game two and scored three late game goals to win 7-5.
Orangeville was again in the lead after game three.
Going into the third period with a one goal deficit, the Northmen managed to shut down the Six Nations offence and ended the night with two final period goals to win 5-4.
The final game of the series got underway on Six Nations territory at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena on Friday, July 15.
The Northmen scored the only goals of the first period to lead 3-0 when the buzzer sounded.
Two more O-ville goals in the second period made it a 5-1 game with one period left to play.
Six Nations fought back in the third period scoring twice but that was it for the night and the Northmen left with a 5-3 win to take the series.
The Northmen will now face the Windsor Clippers in the West final.
The best of five series will get underway on Friday, July 22, at the Alder Street arena in Orangeville with an 8:00 p.m. start.
Game two will take place on Tuesday, July 26, in Windsor.
Game three will get underway on Thursday, July 28, in Orangeville.
