The Orangeville Junior A Northmen have dropped to the number seven spot in the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League after taking an 8-5 loss to the Brampton Excelsiors on Tuesday (May 30) night at Tony Rose arena.
The Northmen now have a 2-4 record for the season.
The Northmen a loss on their road game to Whitby on May 23, after dropping 6-2 in the first period.
They fought back with three second period goals and a strong third period that saw them outscore the Warriors 5-3, but they couldn’t make up the difference and had to settle for a 13-10 loss.
The return to Tony Rose on Tuesday had the Northmen trailing 3-1 at the end of the first period.
The O-ville team matched goals with Brampton in the second period with three each to make it a 6-4 game going into the final period of play.
The Northmen managed a single goal from Zak Deaken in the final frame with Brampton scoring two more to end the game.
The final was 8-5.
The Whitby Warriors are leading the league with 9 points and a 4-3-1 record.
They are followed by the Burlington Chiefs in second place with eight points and a 4-1 record.
The Six Nations Arrows are currently in the number three spot followed by the Toronto Beaches and the Mimico Mountaineers with Brampton slotting in as the number six team in the League so far this season.
The Northmen were in St. Catharines to face the Athletics on Wednesday night with results not available at press time.
They return to Tony Rose arena on Tuesday, June 6, to host Peterborough.
