Headwaters Health Care Centre will be moving their COVID-19 Assessment Centre to a new location – inside of the hospital.

The local hospital announced on Wednesday (Nov.4) that they will be moving the centre to a separate area near the Emergency Department at 100 Rolling Hills Drive, as of Nov. 10.

With the move to locate the Assessment Centre inside the hospital, those looking to get tested will still need to pre-book an appointment by calling, with same day appointments also being available.

The hospital says that an online booking option will be available on or shortly after the move inside of the hospital on Nov. 10.

“It is anticipated that the COVID-19 Assessment Centre will be able to see over 300 people daily,” said the hospital in a notice to the public.

Dedicated parking spots that will be free of charge, have been set up within the Emergency Department parking lot. Those getting tested are being asked to arrive 20 minutes before their appointments, to park in the designated spaces, and call 226-916-5657 to speak with a team member at the centre before entering the building.

The hospital said that people being dropped off or are arriving via transit will have a physically distanced area to wait inside.

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre will operated between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week. To pre-book an appointment at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre call 1-833-422-2001.
