Giants have winning weekend

The Orangeville Giants senior baseball club have moved up to the number five spot in the North Dufferin Baseball League standings after winning back to back games over the weekend.

The Giants hosted the Creemore Barons on Friday (June 10) night at Springbook Park in Orangeville and left with a 5-2 win.

They returned to Springbrook on Sunday, June 12, to host the Mansfield Cubs.

That game resulted in the second win of the weekend when the Giants kept the bats moving and manged to leave with a 10-2 win over the Cubs.

The Orangeville team is on a rolling winning five of their last six games.

The only loss was to the Creemore Braves on Tuesday, June 7.

After 12 games this season, the Giants have been moving up in the standings and now have a 7-5 record.

The undefeated New Lowell Knights remain in the top spot in the NDBL after going ten games without a loss.

In second place, the Midland Indians have a 10-4 record.

They are followed by the Ivy Leafs in third place with a 9-2 record, and the Clearview Orioles in the number four spot with an 8-3 record so far.

The Giants will have two more home games this weekend.

On Friday, June 17, they will host the Bolton Dodgers with a 6:30 p.m. start.

They return to Springbrook Park on Sunday, June 19, to host the Ivy Leafs.

Game time is 1:00 pm.
