Teen Ranch is closed today, following a horrifying accident involving two minors on Highway 10 this morning. According to early reports, shortly after 4 a.m. this morning, a car driven by a 14-year-old boy slammed into a barrier on Highway 10, north of Highpoint Sideroad.
Earlier this morning, The CBC reported a 13-year-old passenger in the vehicle died on the scene, while the driver has been transported to hospital. There has been no word on the condition of the teen when he was transported.
The highway is closed from Highway 9 up to Charleston Sideroad, while police investigate. At this time, it is believed the vehicle, later identified as a Toyota Sienna, was stolen.
The crash occurred near the entrance to Teen Ranch, as the car crashed through a brick barrier next to the camp. Representatives of Teen Ranch confirmed with CBC that the youths involved had not been attending their summer camp. Day camps have been cancelled for today due to the road closure and police investigation.
