Dufferin OPP are continuing to search for a driver that fled the scene of two collisions in Orangeville on Sunday (July 9).
Officers from the Dufferin OPP Detachment responded to a call in the area of Highway 10 and Hockley Rd. following reports of a vehicle failing to remain at a collision at approximately 6:48 p.m. on July 19. Officers were notified that the vehicle, a black sedan, had collided with a second vehicle in the area of Highway 10 and 4th Avenue.
The black sedan left the road and came to a stop in the ditch with four people seen exiting the vehicle; one of them fleeing the scene.
Staff Sgt. Nicol Randall at Dufferin OPP says that a suspect has not been found and that charges have not been laid in the failure to remain.
The suspect is vaguely described as a slender black male and about six feet tall.
OPP Canine and the emergency response team (ERT) were called in by Dufferin OPP who were also assisted by Caledon OPP, Orangeville Police Service, Orangeville Fire and Dufferin EMS.
Multiple social media posts were made following the collision that alleged there had been a shooting. Dufferin OPP say at this time there is no information to suggest there was a shooting.
