Dufferin OPP investigating fatal collision in Mono

Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian in Mono on the morning of Oct. 30.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Headwaters Lane and Blue Heron Drive, and a 72-year-old Mono woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation team attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Suzanne Henderson, 62, from Mono, has been charged with two offences under the Criminal Code of Canada: Dangerous operation causing death and operation causing death.

Henderson was scheduled for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.

The charges hasn’t been proven in court.

Blue Heron Drive was closed for several hours while officers conducted the on-scene investigation and facilitated cleanup efforts. The roadway has since reopened.
