Bottles are filling bellies thanks to the help of MARS Canada and Royal Canin.
Next Tuesday, June 14th, volunteer teams from Royal Canin, and parent company MARS Canada, will be lending a hand at the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Animal Centre for a massive bottle drive event.
The teams will be accepting donations of liquor, wine and beer bottles/cans from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the centre, located at 650 Riddell Road in Orangeville.
“We are so thankful to have the support of MARS Canada and Royal Canin for a bottle drive day this year,” said Calla Spencer, Animal Centre Manager. “Not only do they support us by feeding our animals, they’re now helping us to raise money for veterinary care, supplies and more!”
The teams are also offering restaurant pick-ups, as well as at home pick-ups for those that live in the Orangeville town limits and have 10 cases or more to donate.
Pick-ups can be requested by calling the centre at 519-942-3140 or emailing orangeville@ospca.on.ca. Pick-ups will take place anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The local animal shelter operates a year-round bottle drive, with empties being accepted 24/7 outside the centre. The goal of the bottle drive day is to boost fundraising efforts to support the animals in their care.
As of May 31, 329 animals were adopted into forever homes and in 2016 the centre has seen a spike in small animals needing their help. For more information on the centre’s bottle drive program, adoption program or other services, visit Orangeville.ontariospca.ca.
