The Orangeville Junior Bengals won their third game of the season when they hosted the Barrie Baycats at Springbrook Park in Orangeville on Sunday, June 5.
Brady Janes started on the mound for the Bengals in the late afternoon game.
The Baycats took an early lead scoring two runs in the top of the first inning.
Orangeville responded when they got up to bat with a devastating inning that brought in nine Bengals runs.
Dale Critchley started it off with a big hit to right field that put two Orangeville men on base.
Braydon St. Denis started the scoring when he stole third base then made it across home plate when the throw went wild.
With the bases loaded, Logan Sheppard hit to centre field to bring in a run.
The Bengals got two more runs when a player was walked, and another hit by the pitch to make it to first and advance the runners.
With another walk to advance the runners, the Bengals took a 5-2 lead in the early inning.
In his second at-bat, Critchley singled and brought it two runs when the Baycats had an error that allowed a second runner to cross home plate.
The Bengals got two more runs when Jack Sinclair hit deep to right field and the base runners hit the afterburners to make it across home plate to end the inning with a 9-2 Orangeville lead.
The game ended with a 12-6 win for the Orangeville squad to give them their third win of the season and advance their record to 3-1. That moves them into third place in the standings after the weekend.
The Caledon Nationals are leading the league with a 4-0 record. They are followed by the Orillia Royals.
The Bengals will be back at it this weekend when they host the Georgina Bulldogs at Springbrook Park on Saturday, June 11.
Game time is 4:00 p.m.
