A possible compromise?

ONCE AGAIN this year, the Santa trains out of Orangeville and Inglewood are all sold out, as are advance tickets for the South Simcoe Railway’s steam Santa train out of Tottenham.

Although rush tickets are still available for the steam train runs this weekend and next, perhaps it’s time for us to suggest that the Credit Valley Explorer should have a good look at greatly expanding the annual experience.

For one thing, we think some of the trains should run out of Brampton, where with a little effort access could be provided from the westerly GO Transit parking lot, and trips could go either north to Snelgrove or south to Streetsville.

And we like the idea of having some rush tickets for a third CVE coach, since Santa manages to visit up to four coaches on the South Simcoe line during a round trip that also takes a little under an hour.

We suspect that the local demand would still far exceed the supply.
