OPS officer charged by OPP

On Tuesday, Constable Stephen Fisher of the Orangeville Police Service (OPS) was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police and charged with Disclosure of Private Communication and Breach of Trust by a Police Officer. The OPS says he has been suspended from duty and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on February 5, 2019.
Constable Fisher has been a police officer for 13 years and has been employed with the OPS since 2008.
“We always hold our staff to a very high standard of accountability. This is not a reflection on the dedicated and professional members of the Orangeville Police Service, who keep our community safe. We are committed to upholding the values and ensuring the integrity of our oath of office,” said Chief Wayne Kalinski.
Since the matter is before the courts, the OPS said no further comments will be made.
