But, before I go on with this; I first need to ask if you really and truly – understand the question being asked.
We Canadians know who we are! The Americans do; so why shouldn’t we?
And, we are who we are; not only on Canada Day, and on Remembrance Day; but all year-round, … 365 days a year. And, yes; even during the Christmas Season!
It’s not the clothes, the uniform, or all the cover-up, that makes a man or woman, who or what he or she is. (And the same goes for teenage boys and girls).
It’s what’s under the skin that really counts. A person’s title, popularity or rep- utation first has to be ‘earned’ to be worth anything to anyone, even to ourselves.
If some of us are having problems remembering, our country and its people, for whatever reasons, and are ‘truly’ interested in finding out more; then surely, there are ways and places to seek answers. Also, there are certain learned and wise people to talk to; who can help to refresh your memory, to help you learn about or to learn more of our ‘Canadian’ history.
Also; with and by that historical information, we may surely come to understand and to realize who we true Canadians really are … from sea, unto sea.
Then, and only then, will we be able to stand up to any enemy of our land and people; … anytime, anywhere; … and with confidence and courage, be able to say; …Get out! Stay out! You are not welcomed here!!
