The Westside Secondary School Thunder hockey team won their second game of the season dispatching Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute 5-4 at the Alder Street arena on Wednesday, December 15.
Westside is right in the middle of the pack in the Division 4 /10 high school standings, currently in the number seven spot in the 13 team line-up.
The team has a 2-4-1 record so far with one of those losses coming as the result of an overtime period.
Wednesday’s game turned out to be a tightly fought battle with the Thunder getting the one goal edge to take the game.
Thunder goals came from Patrick Sonoski, Kyle Stavely, Nigel Bedminster, and two from Ryan Bronson.
The Westside Thunder will return to home ice at Alder Street on Thursday, December 18, to host St. James.
The game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
