A moment of silence will be observed before the start of this Saturday’s (Mar. 29) Minor Tyke game at the Alder Street arena in Orangeville in memory of Spenser McFadyen.
The six-year-old Grand Valley boy died in an automobile collision on County Road 109 on Saturday March. 22.
Five other people were injued in the accident.
Spenser was on his way to his Orangeville Minor Hockey game when the collision occurred.
This Saturday’s game would have been Spenser’s last game of the season with his Green team. He wore the number 15.
Orangeville Minor Hockey is dedicating the final game to Spenser as a tribute to the young hockey player.
The game is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Spenser is survived by his parents, three older brothers and two older sisters.
A funeral service has been planned for Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at the Broadway Pentecostal Church in Alliston.
A trust fund has been created – Spenser’s Kids, No One Left Behind, to provide underprivileged youth with a chance to get in the game and play hockey. Donations can be made though Orangeville Minor Hockey and at the hockey game on Saturday.
