Orangeville Police are investigating several acts of mischief to Rotary Park believed to have occurred late Sunday night or early Monday morning. Sometime between 8:15 p.m. Sunday (July 9) and 7:30 a.m. Monday, multiple graffiti markings were spray-painted on various locations in the park, located at 79 Second Avenue.
Various markings, shapes and words were painted on the skate park equipment, pavilion floor and a wall of the tennis club.

Altercation on Broadway
Orangeville Police have arrested and charged a 20-year-old Orangeville man after an altercation between him and a food vendor on Broadway last Saturday afternoon.
At about 2:30 p.m., a man became involved in a dispute with a female food vendor at the corner of Broadway and Second Street. He left the area but returned minutes later brandishing a knife at the female and another male. Witnesses intervened by tackling the male to the ground, subduing him until police arrived.
As a result of the investigation police arrested Johnathan Underwood, 20, of Orangeville, and charged him with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was taken into custody and transported to Headwaters Health Care Centre, where he was treated for minor injuries received when he was tackled by citizens. There were no further injuries as a result of this incident.
Held in custody pending a bail hearing, he was later released and is scheduled to return to court on August 3.
Break-in at Spencer Ave. school
Orangeville Police are investigating a Canada Day break-in at Spencer Avenue Public School.
On Saturday, July 1, at about 11 p.m., police received a report of an intrusion alarm being activated at the school. Police who attended found a door ajar. They cleared the building and found no one inside.
A witness reported seeing what appeared to be two males running from the building prior to police arriving on scene. The suspects are described as white males, one with long blonde hair, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. The second had black hair, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
