The Town of Orangeville is doling out more money through its community grants program.

A motion was approved at last Monday’s (May 31) Council meeting, to distribute a total of $4,500 between three organizations.

The Orangeville and District Horticultural Society is receiving $2,000 to assist with the maintenance and improvement of 11 community gardens.

Celebrate Your Awesome is receiving $1,500 to help cover costs associated with the filming of their virtual event.

And the Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance is getting $1,000 to help offset the publishing costs associated with creating the 2021 Headwaters Farm Fresh Guide.

There’s still $18,500 up for grabs for any local not-for-profit organization that meets the Town’s community grants program’s eligibility requirements.

These requirements include:

  • Demonstratable or potential social and economic benefit
  • In keeping with stated goals and objectives set by Council
  • Members or registrants comprised of Orangeville residents
  • Services available to citizens in the community on an equal basis
  • Track record of providing value to the community for funding received
  • Demonstrates a reasonable effort to raise funds from other sources
  • Funds being received from other levels of government
  • Charitable or Not-for-profit organization
