Swimming, skating, and more offered by Parks, Recreation

The Town of Orangeville’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the popular March Break camp and daily activities from March 16-20, 2015 at the Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre and Alder Street Recreation Centre. The week will feature a variety of fun options for the entire family including skating, swimming and activities.

Day camp activities will be held from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours available from 7:30-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. for an additional fee.

Register your child per day or register for the entire week of programs.

Children must be between four and 11 years of age as of December 31, 2014. Children will be participating in a variety of crafts and activities including skating and swimming. Parents should remember to send their children with a bathing suit, skates, helmet, outdoor clothing, lunch, and snacks to be prepared for a great day of fun.

The Parks and Recreation Department is also offering specialty courses throughout the week to provide residents with specific life-saving skills.

Some of the specialty courses being offered include a babysitting course at the Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre, Bronze Star and Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid courses. The National Lifeguard Course will be held at Alder Street Recreation Centre for the duration of the week, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be two free swims held during March Break at Alder Street Recreation Centre on Wednesday, March 18 from 12 to 1 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Both free swims are sponsored by Access Orangeville.

Free skates will take place on Wednesday, March 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and from 2-2:50 p.m. at the Alder Street Recreation Centre and are being sponsored by Access Orangeville. An additional free skate will take place on Friday, March 20 from 4-5:50 p.m. at Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre and is sponsored by Motion Mazda of Orangeville.
