Some business impacted by Mill St. fire relocate while others still searching

Businesses within the Old Mill Hub (28 Mill St.) were severely impacted by the fire in late August that destroyed the abutting Select Mortgages’ building at 22 Mill Street.

With the buildings currently uninhabitable, some of the affected businesses been able to find temporary or permanent locations, while others are still looking for commercial rental space.

Select Mortgages currently has its agents working remotely and the business can be contacted at (519) 940-0007 or angela@selectmortgagecorporation.com.

The Family Enhancement Centre is also working remotely, doing online and phone sessions, but has found a new temporary location at 15 Elizabeth St., opening for Oct. 1 under a six month lease.

Other relocations include, Art with Jada and the Village Refillery, who are both close to their former location at the Old Mill Hub, now operating at 5 Mill Street.

Music Together’s new location is at Citrus Dance, 51 Townline Rd.

Art of Ink has moved to 75 Broadway and Biostan is reopening at 68 Broadway in the coming days.

Johanis Karate is currently operating out of a temporary location at the Academy of Performing Arts (133 Broadway) and will soon be opening a second temporary location at 109 Broadway.

Launch Hair Salon has also moved to a temporary location, a few kilometers to the west, at 13 Shannon Court, Unit B, Amaranth.

Domestic Divas Cleaning Co is currently looking for a new location but has continued operating business as normal since the fire hit on Aug. 25.

All That Remains Tattoo Studio is at a temporary location on 338 Adams Court. For bookings contact the business at allthatremainsbooking@outlook.com.

Headwaters Heating and Cooling is looking for a new showroom but is still operating remotely. Anyone with potential space can call 519-806-4911.

Pottery Parties Studio is finalizing a new location that will be announced shortly and a Wrinkle in Time is opening soon at the Orangeville Mall (150 First St.).

In addition to the many businesses impacted at the Old Mill Hub, countless artists who had their work displayed throughout the hub have lost their pieces to smoke damage.

The Elspeth Heyworth Centre for the Arts was created at the Old Mill Hub in 2021 as a way of promoting local art and providing a space where people could go and enjoy it.

The Orangeville BIA says some of the business at 28 Mill St. and residential tenants of 22 Mill St. are still looking for new homes. Anyone with leads can reach out to the BIA at info@downtownorangeville.ca.
