OPS magical Christmas forest this weekend

December 6, 2018   ·   0 Comments

The Orangeville Police Services Toys for Tots program will be presenting their third annual magical Christmas forest this weekend, Friday (Dec. 7) from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. John’s Church, on Highway 9 east of town.

Local emergency service providers have teamed up with several businesses and other service groups to provide fully decorated trees throughout the hall. The public are invited, and encouraged, to bring a new unwrapped gift for a child or an item for the Orangeville food bank, and place it under one of the trees.

You will also be given a ballot to cast so that you can help decide which is the best decorated tree in the event.

At the end of the weekend, the winner of the “best tree in show” will be announced. This tree will be awarded – fully decorated –  to a lucky voter from over the course of the weekend. All the toys collected will be distributed through the Orangeville Police Services and Salvation Army programs and foods collected, donated to the Orangeville food bank.
