Nominees announced for Orangeville’s 2022 Arts and Culture Awards

The list of nominations for the 2022 Arts and Culture Awards has been announced by The Town of Orangeville.

An impressive selection of 28 individuals, businesses and organizations have been acknowledged for their contributions to arts and culture in Dufferin County. 

“On behalf of the Town of Orangeville, I would like to congratulate all nominees,” said Councillor Lisa Post, Chair of the Cultural Plan Task Force. “Each of the individuals, businesses, and organizations recognized this year have made meaningful contributions to our community’s creative sector and we are looking forward to celebrating their efforts in-person at this year’s awards event.”

The nominees for the 2022 awards are:

Established Artist of the Year:

Emerging Artist of the Year:

  • Alec Gilbert
  • Clare Padgett
  • Emily Gilbart
  • Haley Marfleet
  • Harley Duck
  • Robin Bobechko

Student Artist of the Year:

  • Mari Kato

Arts Educator of the Year:

  • Heather Holmes
  • Jada Milne
  • Kait Gallant
  • Lisa Lahue

Community Arts Volunteer:

  • Emily Gilbart
  • Hemani Singh
  • Malini Singh
  • Marshal Bobechko
  • Shannon and Valerie McGrady

Community Impact by a Business:

  • Adam’s Wear
  • e.Hofmann Plastics 
  • The Art of Storytelling Inc.

Community Impact by an Organization:

  • Dufferin County Multicultural Foundation
  • Streams Community Hub
  • Theatre Orangeville

Creative Cultural Event:

  • Dufferin County Multicultural Event
  • Theatre Orangeville’s Summer Arts Festival

A presentation of Orangeville’s 2022 Arts and Culture Awards is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Town Hall (87 Broadway). The community is invited to attend and celebrate with nominees as well as honour the winners this year.

While the event is free to attend, those planning on coming out are asked to register in advance online at orangeville.ca/ACAwards by Friday, Sept. 23 to reserve their seat.
