For the seventh year in a row, Nissan Orangeville is receiving an Award of Excellence for providing a great customer experience and having an effective sales team that’s among the best in the country.

Out of the 210 Nissan dealers throughout Canada, the Orangeville location is among the top 10 per cent in sales, customer satisfaction and owner loyalty, making it eligible again for the award.

Nissan Canada President Steve Millette visited the local dealership last Friday (Oct. 1), presenting Nissan Orangeville general manager Jamie Patterson and his team with the Award of Excellence, which is the most prestigious award Nissan branches can receive.

“I’d say they are very committed team, a very committed crew, from the dealer principle [Jamie Patterson] to the leadership of the store, to everybody within the store,” said Millette, of Nissan Orangeville.

“They’ve built a great reputation and they’re doing extremely well for us here in this market.”

Patterson said he and his staff are honoured to again receive recognition for their outstanding performance.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nissan Orangeville won the company’s Global Award of Excellence three years in a row (2017-2019), as they were among the top 10 per cent of Nissan dealerships in the world. The global award program is currently on pause due to the pandemic.

Patterson told the Citizen one of the important factors that make his local dealership so successful year after year is its low-pressure sales environment, which keeps customers coming back.

“It’s completely different than what most people would get in the city and we actually get a lot of people coming up from the city to buy cars from us because of that,” said Patterson.

He added that Nissan Orangeville’s strong reputation also comes from its roots in the community and contributions to the not-for-profit sector.

“We are heavily involved in our community through some charities. Also, most of our staff live and work in their community of Shelburne, Orangeville, and the surrounding areas,” explained Patterson. “We are entrenched in the community. It’s that hometown feel.”

He said it is important to note that Nissan Orangeville wouldn’t be in a position to receive the Award of Excellence if wasn’t for the continued support and loyalty of the local community.

“We want to thank the community. The community has supported Orangeville Nissan in a really big way,” said Patterson. “Our market share is one of the highest in the country, and that’s due to the community, giving us the opportunity to serve them.”
