Credit Valley Conservation is getting ready to host its popular Maple Syrup in the Park events, offering visitors a chance to explore nature, learn about maple syrup production and taste some delicious samples of the iconic Canadian Treat.

Events will occur from Mar. 11 to Apr. 12 at the Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville and Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills.

This year, there will be three separate events: Maple Syrup in the Park, Maple Syrup by Lamplight, and Sap to Syrup: A Maple Syrup Making Experience.

Maple Syrup in the Park is a family-friendly event where visitors can tour maple syrup demonstrations, walk through Tales on the Trail, try maple taffy, learn about Indigenous culture and heritage, and enjoy pancakes with real maple syrup.

At Maple Syrup by Lamplight, visitors will enjoy an exclusive after-hours maple syrup experience.

At Island Lake, you can experience a guided tour by lamplight through the story of the maple sugarbush.

The Terra Cotta version will have an interpretive wagon ride to an illuminated sugar bush.

Participants will learn about maple syrup production techniques used throughout history, sample warm maple syrup, taste maple taffy, enjoy a signature mocktail or cocktail, and learn how to tap a tree.

The Lamplight event is for visitors 19 years of age and older.

New at Terra Cotta Conservation Area this year, Sap to Syrup: A Maple Syrup Making Experience is an intimate, hands-on experience that takes place in the Sugar Shack, and visitors will learn how to tap a tree, collect sap, and use an evaporator to produce and bottle maple syrup.

This experience is for visitors 18 years of age and older.
