The Orangeville Junior B Northmen are storming through the 2022 season with an undefeated record after 8 games.
They are leading the South East division of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League with 16 points and are in third place overall in the 23-team league.
The Northmen took on the Halton Hills Bulldogs in a home game at the Alder Street arena on Tuesday, May 24.
Orangeville took the lead in the first period scoring three times before the Bulldogs could respond.
Northmen goals came from Tyler Van Wart, Garet McMahon on a powerplay, and Jake Argue.
The Orangeville squad outscored Halton Hills 3-2 in the second period after matching goals for the first two then then scoring late in the period to stay ahead 6-3.
Second period Northmen goals came from Gordie Power for two, and Aiden Long on a powerplay.
The third period saw the Northmen pull out ahead with an early goal followed by a four-goal blitz through the middle of the frame.
Halton fired back late in the period with a couple of goals but it was too late to make a difference.
The Northmen left the floor with an 11-6 win – their eighth win of the season.
Third period Orangeville goals came from Gordie Power for two, (four for the game), Aiden Long, and two from Garet McMahon.
Overall in the League, the Elora Mohawks are leading the pack in first place with a 10-1 record and 20 points. They are followed by the Nepean Knights with a 90 record and 18 points recorded so far.
The Northmen are in third place with the Green Gales close behind in the fourth spot with 15 points.
The Northmen will be back on their home floor at the Alder Street arena on Tuesday, June 7, when they will once again be up against the Halton Hills bulldogs.
