The Orangeville Junior B Northmen put another one behind them with an 11-1 win over Guelph on Monday (May 4) night at the Alder Street arena.
The Northmen allowed one goal late in the first period then shut-out the visitors for two periods to take the win.
After leading 2-1 in the first period, the Northmen blasted through the second period scoring eight unanswered goals that pretty much ended the game.
The final frame again saw the Orangeville squad shut-out the Guelph team while adding a single to the total to end the game.
The win leaves the Northmen with a 5-1 record in the early going of the season and a first place standing in the Mid West division.
Over all they are tied with the Windsor Clippers with ten points to lead the League.
Northmen Shane Hillis is leading the scoring for the team with 13 goals and 15 assist after six games and is second over all in the league trailing the leader Bryce Mayea of Hamilton by a single point.
The Northmen have one road game this week when they travel to Point Edward on Saturday, May 9, to take on the Pacers.
They return to O-ville on Monday, May 11, to host the Elora Mohawks at the Alder Street arena.
