Headwaters Health Care Foundation has announced the successful completion of its $16 million Commitment to Care Campaign.
“We did it!” proclaimed Bob Burnside, volunteer Campaign Cabinet chair.
“I am thrilled to announce that we have reached our campaign goal,” Mr. Burnside said.
“Our community has once again shown remarkable support for their hospital. Thanks to your generosity, our health care team can continue to provide, and will soon be able to enhance, the exceptional care that the residents of Dufferin-Caledon rely on from Headwaters.”
Of the $16 million raised, $10.5 million will be used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment while $5.5 million is earmarked for an outpatient care area expansion for chemotherapy and oncology, minor procedures such as biopsies and infusion clinics, and telemedicine; as well as a renovation of existing hospital space to add an additional operating room, and improve the admission and recovery areas.
ing generosity and the tireless work of our dedicated volunteer Campaign Cabinet, our patients will have more access to high-quality, compassionate care closer to home with expanded outpatient services like cancer and fracture care and enhanced surgical services,” said Liz Ruegg, President and CEO, Headwaters Health Care Centre.
“On behalf of our staff, physicians, volunteers, and Board of Directors, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to Head- waters. Without our community’s support, our many donors and the Foundation, none of this would be possible.”
Headwaters Health Care Foundation publicly launched the Commitment to Care Campaign in October 2012 with an unprecedented leadership gift of $3.75 million from Mrs. Eva Heiny, the largest gift ever received by the Foundation.
Additional leadership gifts of $750,000 and two of $500,000 were made by the Headwaters Health Care Centre Auxiliary, the Morn- ingview Foundation and the County of Dufferin respectively, during the course of the campaign.
The $16-million target was achieved despite a decision by the current County Council during its 2015 budget deliberations not to follow through with a commitment by the previous council to make two additional $500,000 donations in 2015 and 2016.
