Gas leak closes Broadway

20141017_112720Broadway has re-opened after being closed from Second Street to First Street due to a gas leak on Mill Street. Late Friday morning, construction workers struck a gas line while continuing repairs on the street, which has been closed since early September.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Ron Morden, Enbridge was been alerted and were able to cap off the leak.
“Due to the wind blowing eastward, a lot of the stores are experiencing the odour, but as of right now we have only evacuated the Public Library and Mogul’s in Mocean,” said Deputy Chief Morden at the time. “We don’t foresee having to proceed with any other evacuations other than that. We’re just awaiting Enbridge’s arrival, but we do not have a timeline on that.”
